After years of talking about emergency preparedness with friends and family, I started an Instagram account devoted to teaching people about how to make a plan for their home and family. I consider myself a practical prepper. I am not about zombies and bunkers. I believe in preparing for personal disasters — job loss, medical problems, financial problems, and natural disasters. Prepared Like a Mother helps people build a food storage, water storage, 72 hour kits, long term food storage, and disaster readiness. Every person''''s preparedness journey is going to look different. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to emergency preparedness. Your plan should fit your family and that’s where I come in. I am not interested in fighting a zombie for the last squirrel, but I am interested in helping my family thrive in uncertain times. Emergency preparedness doesn''''t have to be apocalyptic or daunting. My goal is to help mothers feel relieved and get on the path to preparedness that makes sense to them.
