Steven Goldstein is a veteran meteorologist specializing in hazardous-weather decision support for emergency managers and other core partners. Over 32 years with the National Weather Service and FEMA, he served at forecast offices in Baltimore/Washington, Lubbock, TX, Sacramento, Reno, San Diego, and Buffalo; at the NWS Operations Center in Silver Spring, MD; and at FEMA Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Steven implemented multiple Impact-Based Decision Support (IDSS) initiatives, managed projects and budgets, and deployed on Type I and Type II Incident Management Teams. A certified Type I NWS Incident Meteorologist (IMET), he has supported operations during floods, hurricanes, and wildfires.
